Who’s right Republicans or Democrats?

Neither and both.

Teddy Roosevelt once said, “before someone will listen to what you have to say, they first need to know why you’re saying it.”

My goal is understanding. I’m in search of the truth. And when I believe I’ve discovered the truth, I like to share it with others who may not have the time or the ability to discover it on their own. It’s my way of leveraging my strengths and my interests, to make a social contribution.

I don’t need to persuade anyone of anything. And I’m not in need of validation. Partisans, who think they have all the answers will not agree with my views. And some, who require validation of their existing world view, may feel compelled to argue that they’ve made the correct choice in supporting their party. They may see only a binary choice. I see something more. And I refuse to settle for less.

Feedback that is thoughtful, intelligent, and constructive is always helpful, especially when it provides disconfirming evidence that causes me to re-think my positions. Agreement and validation act as sources of confirmation and inspiration.

We all have biases and I’m no exception. The only difference between me and most people is that I make a daily effort to try and be aware of mine and to try and control them. I’m non-partisan. I believe that…
