I wrote this story so you can understand how we got to where we are in Israel and Ukraine. Ukraine will be remembered as where WWIII began.

Ukraine was never about democracy, any more than Iraq was about weapons of mass destruction. It was always about money, power, and greed. It always is.

The Dog lives in a beautiful patch of land, filled with a bounty of natural resources (“Chernozem” the Black Earth) that are coveted by all who surround him, including, but not limited to, the Ass, the Bear, the Lion, and the Wolf.

Unfortunately, the Dog lacks the strength to develop and leverage all of this bounty. The Ass, the Bear, the Lion, and the Wolf could all help the Dog, but he’s not sure who to trust.

Long ago, the Dog had a problem with the Bear (the “Holodomor”) so, although the Bear is closest to him, he keeps his distance from the Bear.

The Wolf could help as well, but the Dog knows that the Wolf and the Bear are friends, so he doesn’t have a good feeling about the Wolf.

Knowing this, the Ass approaches the Dog and shows some interest. He says that he is friends with the Lion and offers to help the Dog.

The Lion is very formidable. He leads a pride of lions (NATO) — so the Lion and his pride could provide protection for the Dog from the Bear and the Wolf.

The Dog expresses interest in joining the Lion’s pride and the Ass responds by saying, “First you must prove yourself by poking the Bear.”

The Dog complies and pokes the Bear. The Bear responds by moving closer to the Dog. At which point the Ass offers to send the Dog sticks and stones (Body armor; medical supplies; Humvees; Javelin anti-tank missiles; Small arms and ammunition), to use to defend himself against the Bear, in exchange for some of the Dog’s bounty.

The Dog agrees, and attacks the Bear with the sticks and stones, hoping that this will satisfy the Lion and his pride.

The Dog then tells the Ass, “I did what you said so please let me join the Lion’s pride.” To which the Ass replies, “Show us your courage. You need more and bigger sticks and stones to repel the Bear — share more of your bounty with us and we will give you bigger sticks and stones (F-16s, Patriot Missiles, Cluster Bombs) to use against the Bear.”

So, again the Dog agrees. The Ass sends the Dog more and bigger sticks and stones suppled by the Lion and his pride. And the Dog again uses these to attack the Bear.

After several years of the Dog fighting the Bear with sticks and stones, and watching the Lion and his pride observe this exchange from a distance, the Dog finally begins to wonder — will the Lion and his pride ever intervene on my behalf? So, He asks the Ass, “Will they now allow me to join the pride?”

Eventually, the Ass tells the Dog, “Why should they? You and the Bear have already been weakened by your quarrel. The Lion and his pride, who covet your collective bounty, have already been enriched by your bounty and your quarrel with the Bear, and they continue to be enriched by this ongoing conflict everyday. (BlackRock through Cargill, Monsanto, and DuPont now control over 30% of the “Chernozem”) It matters not to the Lion and his pride who wins — you or the Bear. You have both been weakened by your conflict, and your collective bounty is now more accessible to the Lion and his Pride. Now — the Lion and his pride have only the Wolf and his pack to worry about.”

To which the Dog responds, “Why didn’t you tell me this from the beginning?” To which the Ass responds “Because I’m an Ass.”
